highly recommended!
I was looking for a simple grocery list app... this fit the bill & then some! It did take a little while to get my grocery list & store sections set up the way I wanted, but once that was done, my menu & grocery planning has been a snap. Plus, I love having one place to look for favorite recipes. My husbands been after me for some time to create a list or index of favorite recipes so he can see what we havent had in awhile.
A few tips that Ive figured out that have made it easier for me:
1) I added my own store sections for things like paper goods & cleaning supplies. I also created sections for places like Pet Smart & the health food store for stuff that I buy on a regular basis from places other than the grocery store or Wal-Mart.
2) I have lots of cookbooks that I refer to on a regular basis. Problem is, I cant always remember which cookbook to look in for certain recipes. For those, I just listed the name & ingredients in the app... instead of typing out the instructions, I simply typed in the name & page number of the cookbook where to find it.
3) For items I know I always keep on hand (such as olive oil), I still set them to appear on the grocery list. After I sync the menu & grocery list, I can scan through the grocery list & make sure I really do have enough of everything I need (I hate starting dinner then realizing Im out of something I thought I had on hand already!).
My only complaint about the app is that when you select "aggregate items" for syncing the menu & grocery lists, it only aggregates like measurements (for example, it doesnt recognize that 2 tbsp parmesan cheese & 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese are really the same item). It just means I have to manually scan through the list after I sync it.
Overall, I love the app & would highly recommend it to anyone!
